News on The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial

New York: The upcoming revival of The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial will play the Lyceum Theater when it opens on Broadway. It will begin previews on April 14th and officially open on May 7th. David Schwimmer

David SchwimmerIn addition to the announcement of the theater, more casting has been announced. Joining previous stars David Schwimmer and Zeljko Ivanek will be Terry Beaver as Captain Blakely, Murphy Guyer as Captain Southard, Brian Reddy as Dr. Forrest Lundeen, and Ben Fox as Lt. Willis Keith.The creative team includes set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey Long, and lighting design by Paul Gallo. Jerry Zaks directs.Beaver's Broadway credits include Democracy, Twentieth Century, Henry IV, The Man Who Came to Dinner, and The Last Night of Ballyhoo for which he was Tony nominated. Guyer appeared in The Graduate on Broadway.Reddy has appeared on Broadway in Dinner at Eight, Abe Lincoln in Illinois, A Little Hotel on the Side, and Alice in Wonderland.Fox made his Broadway debut in Our Town with Paul Newman.The play based on Herman Wouk's book ran for 415 performances in 1954 starring Henry Fonda, John Hodlak, and Lloyd Nolan. The work was also turned into a film starring Humphrey Bogart.In the play, Lieutenant Stephen Maryk relieves his commander, Queeg, of his duty because he feels he is too mentally unstable to pilot their sub.
