Azaria left the production temporarily on June 6th to film his series Huff. Alan Tudyk has been filling in for him.
Hyde-Pierce and Azaria will be joined by Simon Russell Beale on December 20th, who will replace Tim Curry as King Arthur.
In Spamalot, the legendary tale of King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table and the quest for the Holy Grail are told through a chorus line of legless knights, men in tights (with killer legs), killer rabbits, and sexy dancing divas.
The musical won 2005 Tony awards for director Nichols, actress Sara Ramirez, and for Best Musical.
