Nineteen-year-old Julianne Hough has won two consecutive season of Dancing with the Stars (the first with skater Apolo Anton Ohno and the second with race car driver Helio Castroneves) and has been called one of the best dancers on the planet.
She’s certainly dancing now that her self titled debut album hit number one on the country charts. She seems happy enough on the cover photo of the album and now she definitely has reason to smile.
The album is a cheery one and all but one of the album photos features her flashing her pearly whites. I suppose that one problem might be that she adds such sugar to all of the songs that she sings on the album and that might have some complaining of cavities.
The worst one is “You, You, You” with its saccharine repeated lyrics that really sounds rather silly. However, as with eating such sweet treats sometimes you keep gobbling till you have an empty box and the same is to be said of this album.
“That Song in My Head” is certainly addictive. Maybe we need such a happy demeanor in such hard times and that’s why the album appears to be selling well.
Hough has the pipes, but hopefully her next album will have her taking some chances and differentiating herself from the rest of the pack.
