Alan Tudyk signs up to be a ‘Vampire Hunter’

Alan Tudyk has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox’s “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.”

According to Variety, he joins a cast that includes Benjamin Walker as Lincoln, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jimmi Simpson and Robin McLeavy.

Tudyk will play Stephen A. Douglas.

The story revolves around Abraham Lincoln fighting vampires during the Civil War.

Seth Grahame-Smith wrote the novel and will also adapt the script.

Timur Bekmambetov (“Wanted”) will direct and co-produce with Tim Burton and Jim Lemley.

The film, which will be shot in 3D in March, is scheduled for a June 22, 2012 release.

Tudyk is best known for his role on Fox’s cult TV show “Firefly.” He’ll be seen this summer in Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” Note the date on this article may be incorrect due to importing it from our old system.
