Channing Tatum will join Jonah Hill in Columbia Pictures’ bigscreen reboot of “21 Jump Street.”
According to Variety, both actors will executive produce.
The film is based on the 1980s Fox TV series that focused on young undercover police officers investigating crimes in high schools and colleges.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing from a script by Michael Bacall.
Hill and Bacall wrote an earlier draft of the script.
Neal H. Moritz will produce. Stephen J. Cannell, who co-created and executive produced the original series, will receive a posthumous producing credit.
Shooting will begin in early 2011.
Tatum will be seen in Universal’s upcoming “The Dilemma” on January 14, followed by Focus Features’ “The Eagle” on February 11.
