Scarlett Johansson engaged

New York beauty Scarlett Johansson has accepted Ryan Reynolds’s hand in marriage.

Reynolds is from Vancouver, Canada.

Currently promoting her new album of Tom Waits songs entitled “Anywhere I Lay My Head,” Johansson, 23, came on the scene in the Robert Redford starring film, “The Horse Whisperer.”

She made her mark in “Lost In Translation” opposite Bill Murray, as a young woman questioning her life’s meaning.

Her sex symbol status was defined along with costar Jonathan Rhys-Meyer (The Tudors) in the Woody Allen thriller, “Match Point.”

She recently starred alongside another New York actress, Natalie Portman, in “The Other Boleyn Girl.”

Known more for his turn in comedic roles, Reynolds appeared in “Waiting” and “Smokin’ Aces,” among many film and television roles.

Reynolds began seeing Johansson after his engagement with Alanis Morrisette was announced as over in 2006.

No date has yet been set, a representative for the couple has relayed that they are “both thrilled.”.
