‘Now You See Me’ gets 2013 release date

Summit Entertainment has set a release date of January 18, 2013, for its magician-heist film “Now You See Me.”

According to Variety, Louis Leterrier (“Clash of the Titans”) will direct.

The cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Melanie Laurent, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Isla Fisher and Woody Harrelson.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing through their K/O Paper Products shingle.

The film focuses on an expert FBI squad trying to close in on a group of the world’s greatest illusionists, who pull off a series of bank heists during their live performances and shower the bank money on their audiences.

Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt wrote the original script with Andre Nemec and Josh Applebaum having done a recent polish.

Yakin will executive produce along with K/O Paper Products’ Bobby Cohen.
