Jai Courtney will play Jack McClane, the son of John McClane, in Twentieth Century Fox’s fifth installment of the “Die Hard” franchise, “A Good Day to Die Hard.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bruce Willis will reprise his iconic role of New York City police detective John McClane.
Skip Woods wrote the script with John Moore (“Max Payne,” “The Omen,” “Flight of the Phoenix,” “Behind Enemy Lines”) directing.
Alex Young is producing with shooting set to begin in April.
The film will open February 14, 2013.
The newest installment involves McClane and his estranged son, Jack, as they are caught up in the prison escape of a rogue Russian leader overseas.
The last installment of the “Die Hard” franchise, 2007’s “Live Free or Die Hard,” grossed over $380 million worldwide.
Courtney is best known for his role as Varro in the Starz series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand.”
