October means that chocolate becomes its own food group. It’s when you can knock on doors and demand candy… come on, the best time of the year!!
Sometimes I crave chocolate so much I will find any excuse to go to the store to indulge in this desire. If I walk then I’m burning the calories, or I earned this because I worked extra hard at the gym or even, my boyfriend’s an ass and I deserve to feel good, screw him….
Chocolate is the feel good guilty pleasure that we can all understand. Who knew that a bitter little bean discovered by the Aztecs thousands of years ago would be the flavor of lovers and children and PMSers alike??
Want to know how to make it even better… chocolate booze! Can I get an Amen, Sistah??
Dekuyper, famous for their flavored “pucker” mixes is now hitting it on all cylanders with their Crave Chocolate Liqueurs. They have taken my love of chocolate to a whole ‘nuther level and that level is Wowza!!
It’s like putting desert in a glass and sipping up all the decadent goodness with a delicious kick. Crave Liqueurs are available in three flavors – Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Cherry, and Chocolate Chili. And they just introduced a brand new one, Chocolate Truffle. Wait, Chocolate? Truffle? Liqueur? I literally have tears of joy.
And at only 95 calories for a 1.5 oz serving this chocolate indulgence is almost guilt free
Personally, I’m a sucker for Crave’s Chocolate Chili. I blended it up with ice and went to town. Sure, it’s not a “fall cocktail”, but it’s so damn good that sometimes you need to bend convention and have a frozen cocktail on a cool fall evening. Next time I will try a splash of the Chocolate Truffle for an added oomph of decadence!
For something more seasonally appropriate, try adding Crave Chocolate Mint to a cup of hot cocoa. Seriously… it’s devine, and minty! Or use Crave Cherry Chocolate in your White Russian for a pop of cherry flavor.
Or… try this tasty concoction:
Chocolate Ginger Spice

½ part DeKuyper® Mixologist Collection Ginger Liqueur
3 parts Fresh Orange Juice
1. Build in order over ice in a highball glass and stir
