Book Review: Shelter Puppies

For anyone who has ever brought home a new puppy, safely wrapped inside their shirt or jacket, this collection of heartwarming, heart-rending photos will bring back fond memories. Kloth, a lifelong dog lover, author and photographer has done a wonderful job of capturing the beguiling charm and exuberant spirit of an assortment of shelter puppies as they await a permanent home. Several, like nine-week old Sebastian or a Boston terrier mix have such soulful eyes one cannot help but think they’ve already experienced too much bad stuff in their short lives. The purpose of this book is not only to raise awareness about shelter puppies and hopefully generate more adoptions at animal pounds throughout the country but also to raise funds for the ongoing work of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Surely, if everyone who desired to add a cat or dog to their household sought animals from their local shelters and then properly spayed or neutered them, life would be much better for all concerned.
