The Edwardian Ball will be held on February 23 at the beautiful Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
The Edwardian Ball packs up its roadshow and heads South for the winter from San Francisco, returning to the Fonda Theatre for their fourth foray into Los Angeles. The Edwardian Ball is produced with the blessing of the Edward Gorey estate and a portion of proceeds go to the Edward Gorey Charitable Trust which is dedicated to animal welfare.
From the release:
The Edwardian Ball will entice and enchant with a unique experience, a feast for the senses, a merging of entertainment, mystique, fashion, circus, games, music, and dancing, with the style and panache of the turn of the 19th century. This elegant, whimsical, extravagantly lavish event, honoring the eccentric author/illustrator Edward Gorey, where people will come together in elaborately dressed Edwardian period fashion, creative goth and steampunk attire and wacky, bizarre costumes inspired by Edward Gorey.
Co-hosts Rosin Coven and Vau de Vire Society present a whimsical and elegant celebration of an unforgettable era, and honor Edward Gorey, the prolific master of ominous storytelling.
This year’s featured story is Gorey’s classic “The Doubtful Guest,” performed live onstage with original music, choreography, and circus theatrics! Also: Jill Tracy, Dark Garden Corsetry, solo and ensemble performances by Vau de Vire Society, and a two-stage selection of the finest Edwardian DJs: Delachaux, Xian, Shakti Bliss, Mia Dangerfield, Justin Paul, E-Jag, and Lushbunny spinning the night into beautiful oblivion.
