US Publisher Scholastic have announced the biggest ever print run for the new J.K. Rowling novel ”Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”
The sixth book in the series is due out on July 16 and the publisher plans a massive print run of 10.8 million copies, which is 4 million more than “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” had in 2003.
A spokeswoman for the publisher said: “We know, based on past experience, that readers will want a copy the minute it goes on sale.”
“We wanted to be ready so that every single child, every single person who started out with Harry Potter when it began and every family that wants multiple copies will be able to get them,” she added.
Speculation over the content of the book is rife with some bookmakers offering odds on which character will be bumped off. Pre-sales at online stories such as Amazon have also been massive, the book hitting he top of their chart months before it is due out.
